A quick word: the plot if fairly long but I'm working on that ^^" Feel free to skim and take in only the major details
Billions of years ago, the Five Gods were born in the blackness of space to parents Mother Eternity and Father Creation. Their children were good and benevolent, so they left the Five to their own buisness, leaving to other dimensions to create new life and new worlds. The five gods were:
Thyr - Lady of the Sun, sometimes called the Child of Light and Laughter for her appearance and nature.
Rashan - Lord of the Moon, the one called Silence Incarnate for his quiet and brooding demeanor.
Avaria - Lady of the Earth, called Mother Earth by some. A loving, motherly mare.
Teior - Lord of the Waters, quick to anger and swift to forgive.
And finally
Ciaka - Lady of the Skies, a wild stormbringer who keeps a tight hold on the winds...she can't always keep them in check, however, and some break loose, causing great storms across the land.
They worked in peace for many long years, creating a world to call their own and making beings to inhabit the lands they had created. The cretures they made were horses, and for a long time they lived in peace. One day, when they began to feel that they needed a way to speak to their creations without scaring them in their Godly forms, the Five decided to breed with mortals to bring about DemiGods as the bridge between the worlds. For centuries the horses had known that they were governed by Gods, but enver had the two spoken.
The Five each chose a mare or stallion to watch over several years, except for Rashan, who knew that his powers, more intense than some of the others, would drive a mortal insane. Thyr's magic would do the same, but she had a greater confidence in the mortals than her brother, so when the time came that the mares and stallions they had been watching had their first foals, the Gods played their hand.
The foals were born in the same day, all with coats that looked quite a bit like the Gods that had blessed them. Rashan looked on quietly, hoping that the power of his siblings wouldn't hurt the foals, hoping that he had been wrong.
Avaria's daughter, Shasa, was a beautiful bay, jsut like the Goddess. She was given a small power over the plants of the world. Teior's son, Torran, was a handsome blue roan, same as his patron God. His power was over all running water, including rain. Ciaka's daughter, Airal, was a light grey and could run as fast as the winds she could alter. The air was hers ot command and she loved it. All three were free spirits, but none so as Airal. Shasa was the most loving and Torran the most peaceful. But there was a fourth, and Rashan disparied to seen him born.
At first, Cior was a fine colt, a dark gold in colour, looking around with curious eyes. He started to play with his dam and sire, only to discover that the latter burst into flames before his eyes. Horrified, the colt and his mother ran far away from the angry herd, who were convinced Cior was a demon.
As the years passed, Shasa, Torran and Airal grew into fine young horses, living good lives in which they were loved by their herds for keeping the grass green, protecting their friends and family from attacks and making sure that everyone was ok. Cior, though, had a bad childhood. Everywhere he went he sent things into great blazing infernos. He ran from everything and when his mother died he snapped. It is unknown how he did it, but the colt discovered Dark Magic somewhere in his journies and turned his powers over the sun's fire into Shadow. By the time he returned to the world, he had full control over a nearly inexhaustable army of Shadow horses and an arsenal of Dark Magic attacks.
Taking a land of his own, Cior turned it into a place of Shadow and Darkness. Soon after this he began taking prisoners and among them were many mares, both young and old. He laughed as he beat and killed the colts and stallions and nothing gave him more pleasure than forcing the mares. It was even better when he could find a filly all on her own, though this was rare. He kept his prisoners at a great obsidian rock called Slave Peak that he attatched long chains of Shadow to so none could run away.
Eventually the insane stallion turned black with the magic he abused and his build turned from fine boned to bulky and muscular. Where once stood an arabesque palomino, one of the handsomest you would ever see, now stood a black friesian-looking brute whose cruelty knew no bounds. He gained a few followers, then more and more. Soon the land was divided into what came to be known as the PureHearted who, although they didn't neccesarily want to be good equines, wanted to protect themselves from a greater evil) and the Impure (Cior's followers of Shadow and destruction). The other DemiGods simply stood aside, knowing that when the time came that a true war broke out, there would be some who needed a shelter from the outside, be it for now or forever. They would be the steady pillars in a swirling sea of war.
The years have passed since the war's first shadows passed over the land, and now the situation seems to be worsening. With war looming on the horizon, who's side will you join? The Gods' PureHearted or Cior's Impure? The choice is yours; The odds are even and the board is set. Let the games begin.
