Lunacy
The day had finally faded into darkness and the atmosphere hung heavy like a blanket of black velvet over their small world. Small bits of light filtered through the blanket, creating quietly blinking crystals of light. And in turn, this light filtered through the tree tops which then reflected on the honey dipped bodice of the femme. Her palomino coat was practically iridescent through the night air. That was her- an iridescent angel. She was practically the picture of perfection as she stood there all alone under the soft night sky. Her flaxen tresses had grown long and they cascaded over her well shaped boa. Her encarta hung limply from her rump like a motionless pendulum, only to be raised when she must whisk it across her hocks to rid her pelt of pesky mosquitoes. She was a petite equine. She stood at a whole fifteen and a half hands, but her frame was extremely thing. 'twas not that she was malnourished or anything of that sort. She was merely very small. That was just the way she was built. Her auds were well shaped and always forward to hear whatever she may. Her orbs were a soft blue with flecks of grey, the color of the sky just before it snowed. Her eyelashes were a snowy white, making her orbs stand out like no other. There was a small star upon her forehead, contrasting with her elegant golden hue. Then her dial faded out into a soft pink at her maw. Yes, she was a beautiful being. Lunacy was like no other.
As she wandered through the forest, her flints left soft craters in the earth. The footing was fairly damp, as if there had been recent rain. Autumn had just turned into winter and it was evident in the cloudy sky that snow would come in no time. Lunacy just hoped that she may find a home before the storms set in. She would hate to be stranded out in this world all by her lonesome, and in inclement weather as well. The golden femme raised her apex slightly, her marbled orbs peering through her flaxen forelock. The stars were fading, for they were being covered by deep gray clouds. As she gazed up at the ominous sky, a chill ran through her spine. Yes, snow would be here soon. She had already begun to grow her winter coat. Her honey pelt was thick and long, giving her an adorable shaggy look. This would be her third winter. Yes, Lunacy was still but a filly.
Still wandering through the dark wood, Lunacy kept her nares alert, searching for the scent of any other equines. After a long walk through the area, it hit her with a blast. The scent of femmes and broncs come and gone. She was finally in some sort of civilized place. There were many equine scents intermingled, including that of many stallions. Stags only congregated for one thing: claiming. She had to assume that this was a sort of claimence wood. As she moved further into the area, the topography became rocky and slanted. She climbed up the hilly terrain, her ivory flints slipping every so often on loose gravel. Finally, she grew tired of walking and decided to settle down and take a break for the first time tonight. She wandered towards a small brook and dipped in her elegant mug. She shut her orbs delicately as she sipped the water, enjoying the chill tasted down her parched throat. Finally, she raised her apex. She looked 'round, but saw nothing. She let her guard down enough to rest one hind appendage, setting the tip of her hoof into the dirt and allowing her haunches to relax. She lowered her apex and let her orbs flutter closed.
She must have fallen asleep, for when she opened her eyes once more, she was blinded by a sharp light coming through the trees. She blinked a few times and raised her apex, turning her chassis ever so slightly. It was early morning. She saw the sun drowsily pulling itself up upon the horizon behind the mountains. For the first time, she could see her surroundings. She looked around, seeing the tracks she had made last night and the brook she had drank from. The sky was a beautiful purple and pink. However, the hues were not as vibrant as normal. They were covered by a thin silver blanked. She blinked a few times and realized that a soft spray of snow had begun to fall. Lunacy smiled. Oh, how she loved the winter. It was so fun to play in the snow, and she loved the feeling of the soft flakes on her back. She tossed her apex happily.
Then, the vixen's auds turned westward to listen carefully. She heard the rustle of leaves and a twig break. She turned slightly, not in the least bit afraid. 'twas probably just some traveler like herself, wishing to take a drink from the delicious spring. She peered through the forest, looking for a being. She dearly hoped that an equine would show up, for she had been in solitude for the past few days and was growing lonely.

Let's think back
T'was a new day and the golden hued bronc moved slowly among the forest. He had no idea how he got here he was just glad that he did for the surroundings were beautiful. The brute was not large like most stallion but he didn't care. His father was small along with her mother and older brother. Just thinking about his family brought a smile upon the stag's kissers. How he loved his family. It was a shame that he had to leave his herd but it was for the best. His father didn't want him hanging around his mares and foals. Cloud didn't care though. He wanted a knew life. Start off fresh so now one knows you and anything can happen.
He had traveled for so long and hoped soon he could find a terra and some mares and have a wonderful herd. But wasn't that most stallions dreams? To have a great herd? Some didn't get there dreams and Cloud hoped that he would. Daggers touched the earth gently, making a small indent in the snow that was melting away. Winter was passing and the lushes trees and bushes were coming green again. From a distance you could tell that the bronc had no idea where he was going but that was the fun of it. Cloud loved to wonder and find out where he ended up.
This time it seemed that Cloud would stay in these lands and not leave like he usually did when he entered a new land. Honey touched brute was starting to tire, when the sight of aqua came into view. Halting, he gave a sigh of relief. He was so thirsty and needed water. Trotting slowly toward the body of water, he dipped his muzzle to the clear brook and drank until he couldn't drink anymore. Tiara rose lowly to observe his surroundings. The sight of the raising of the sun was very breath taking and he wished to share it with someone. Anyone.
Twin towers that rested firmly a top the brutes cranium flicked back and forth to the sound of another equine near. Dial turned to search for the horse that he heard was near. Nares flared and in no time the sun kissed brujo caught smell of the femme. Loping toward the femmora, chocolate brown optics took sight of a lovely honey hued mare like himself. Kissers parted and a warm nicker was given to the fae. She was quite beautiful and like no other Cloud had seen before. Walking closey to her, he halted just feet away."Hello M'lady. I am Cloud. Might I be able to be blessed with your calling?" He inquired sweetly, a smile blooming across my ebon maw when he was done speaking.
To when the world was new

Remembering is just
Lunacy's auds were forward, awaiting any sort of sound to further approach from the dense forest. Her gray flecked orbs were wide and vibrant, searching through the still dreary morning light. She heard the rustle of leaves once more, then side stepped a bit to get a better view down the brook. Soon, another being came into view. He was a golden hued stallion, his color matching with Lunacy's perfectly. He was a bit larger than her, with excellent conformation and build. His tresses were flaxen, hanging delicately disheveled over his visage. She smiled softly as he spoke, for his lyrics were kind and true. She stepped towards him as he approached her. For some reason, she immediately felt safe around him. He seemed so kind...yet Lunacy had made the mistake of early trust before. However, it was like a total deja vu with this bronc. It was like she had seen him before...
But that was impossible. She had honestly never seen the bronc before. But there was something about him...oh, never matter. She was getting ahead of herself. Why, she had been standing there like an idiot and hadn't even introduced herself to the kind stallion! She smiled sweetly, and finally let her lyrics flow. Her dreambox running the whole time.
"Greetings. I am Lunacy."
Said the enchantress, her lyrics soft and polite. She was kind to the end. Her whipcord flicked back and forth, kissing against her hocks. With the morning sun came morning pests, and it seemed as if the new spring flies were out to get her. She gazed at the bronc, giving him the once-over. She glanced over his sun kissed bodice, looking for any visible flaws. There were none. She glanced upward at the rising sun. The purples and pinks were beginning to fade, bringing on mid-morning. The sun, it seemed, had reached its peak at the top of a majestic snowcapped mountain. A trickling brook was to their left, where the snow was melting at the top of the mountain and formed a sort of tiny waterfall cascading down the cliffs. Oh, Waterfalls. They were beautiful. Lunacy would know, she lived by one as a little filly. It was a beautiful place. Every day she would go play with her friends beneath the rushing water, and behind the waterfall they would find the most interesting caves. Life was good before she left the herd. Now she was just alone and frightened. Well, as frightened as she could be. Lunacy was never one to be fearful. Fear was Satan, trying to kill all lifeforms of the lights. Fear was the Devil climbing into your soul. Without fear, you could push him away. The darks were nothing to be scared of, for they were equines just as the luces were. 'twas just what you believed, she supposed, that made who you were.
His name was Cloud. What an interesting name, to be dubbed after the thing that littered the sky. Clouds were beautiful and kind in the spring, but at times they turned bad...thunder clouds, dark and horrific at times. She wondered if this reflected his personality. Perhaps he was a kind stallion...with a mean streak? Oh, what was she doing!? It was just like Lunacy to over-analyze the situation before it even began to unfold. She really must learn to sit quietly and let things happen on their own. That was her downfall. She'd always over analyze things, and psyche herself out. Thats what made her run from so many other herds she had been welcomed into the past few years. She would not let that happen again in the land of Galloping Free III. She pushed all thoughts of his name out of her mind, and began to reflect on her own.
Lunacy didn't really know the origin of her name. In fact, she didn't really even understand what it meant. Lunacy is a word for insanity, usually having to do with the moon, thus the "Luna" part. Lunacy didn't really understand why this name should be dubbed upon her. However, as a filly she was wild and neurotic, sometimes too smart for her own good. And she had that huge independent streak...perhaps her parents thought of it as some kind of joke? However, her mother and father took to calling her little pet names. Her mother would shorten her named to Luna and her father had all kinds of names for her. Oh, how she loved her father. Until she reached the age of two he doted upon her like she was but a monthling. He showered her with affection and attention. You shine like the moon in the sky.. he would say. you're my little iridescent angel. He even took to calling her Angel, but he was the only one who did. His little angel. She never left his side. She missed her father dearly. It was so strange to be out here alone, without someone loving her and catering to her every whim like she did. All that attention he had given her when she was young created a sort of air to Lunacy. She always wanted someone with her, someone to do things for her, to tell her they loved her. She didn't know if this was a good thing or not.
She gazed out upon the horizon furthermore, looking at everything from the tall branches of the oaks to the melodic trickling of the brook beside her. The grass was beginning to grow through the leftover snow, which in turn, was melting. The creek was near to overflowing from all the excess water. In this season, it was dangerous to be near the mountains, what with the melting snow creating rushing water. Oh, but it was so beautiful! And it felt so wonderful to finally be warm once more. She smiled to herself, then looked back to the bronc.
"The weather is lovely."
An invention of the mind.

Lunacy. Her name was so beautiful like she was. She was different. I just got this connection between us like we have met before but I knew we haven't. It was odd how things like that happened. But she was so familiar. Its like we met in a dream or something. My mind started to wonder and I almost forgot about the fea until she spoke again. It was very lovely out. I had never been in such wonderful weather. Orbs focused on the honey touched mare and I smiled at her. Man was she something special. Forgetting that we were having a conversation I blushed a bit; if horses could.
"Yes yes its very lovely."
I said quickly but gently. Orbs watched the colors of purple and pink raise. How marvelous it was. For a moment I didn't know what to say. Something that happened to me often. I didn't talk to others much, always I loved others company and Lunacy was certainly good company. Auds flicked back and forth as the birds in the trees woke up and began to sing there beautiful songs across the lands. Birds were very interesting creatures. They were always with others and usually never alone. Sometimes I wished I was a bird. To be able to fly across the world. Seeing new things and never being lonely. But thats not what I was. I was an equine. A large thing. Eyes shifted to the ground and I pawed at it gently.
"So Lunacy, where are you from?"
ooc// eg. no muse.

She continued to gaze at the palomino stag, watching his body language and every move. Her auds analyzed his lyrics intensely. She smiled softly as he seemed a bit flustered from the moment of silence. She thought she even detected a hint of scarlet rush across his visage. How cute. Her auds were perked forward, anticipating his every word. Kind and gentle were his lyrics, not in the least bit intimidating. He was so sweet. She too, spotted the birds. She loved birds. They were so beautiful. And their life was so simple. It was like when they were born they were destined for a certain mate. They didn't have to do anything...they just connected. Lunn wished it was that easy for equines. But it wasn't. Oh well, she though, inwardly sighing. The love game wasn't exactly her domain, but she'd learn eventually. She just wondered who she would learn it with. Was this the stag?
She nodded gently as he agreed with her. The day was magnificent. But enough about that. They were getting down to the real stuff. Where are you from? Well, Lunacy's old herd wasn't a well known one. Just a simple thing led by her father. There wasn't really much for her to talk about on that subject.
"A small herd far North, m'lord."
She said kindly. Her dreambox ran happily, thinking about her old home. Her father, especially! Oh, how she missed him. And she was sure he missed his Iridescent Angel, as well. She thought of her home fondly. It was a beautiful place nestled under a collection of waterfalls. She firmly believed there was no place more beautiful.
"And you, Cloud?"

ooc;; its fine. i have a headache and a bad cough. ;D
I listened to every word the fae said. Even if it was a long novel, I would listen. I was always a good listener. But she didn't take long to tell me about her home. A small herd? Small herd were nice, but I had lived in a large one. A very large one. Twenty or more horses! Auds flicked but were forward again when she asked me about my home. My home was nothing special. Maybe to others but not to me.
"I came from a large herd in the south. And there's no need to call me m'lord, for I do not rule over a terra yet."
It was the truth. I lived no where. But that was going to change. I already had one fine mare by the name of Someday and she matched the color and me and Lunacy. The two would get along very well. All I needed now was the courage to ask her to join me and Someday, but of course I was not bold like others. I got shy and nervous most of the time when I talked to mares. I didn't know why I just did.

He may usually be nervous and shy normally, but Lunacy saw no flaw in him whatsoever. He was kind and caring, and totally natural. Not like one of those broncs that completely acted different in the claiming lands to get mares. It seemed like this was the real him. He reminded her of something...but she wasn't sure who. She stepped towards him ever so slightly, closing the large gap. They must look silly. Their hues were the exact same. Why, it looked like a palomino convention! Lunacy smiled. They even had a matching stripe upon each visage. The only difference was that he was slightly dappled, while her coat was smooth and single hued. She had no blemishes. Once again, the picture of an angel.
She couldn't help but smile as he instructed her not to call him lord. See? He was just so down to earth. She knew many stallions who forced their mares to call them lord, or king. Making them a symbol of authority. Lunacy always felt inferior to stallions, but not to him, even though they had just met. He seemed fair and so, so kind. Lunacy knew that the 'big question' was teetering on the edge of his lips, she just hoped it would fall soon. If he asked her to join his herd, she already knew what the answer would be.
"Of course. I will call you simply Cloud."
She felt a bit foolish for saying this, but she had grown a bit shy all of a sudden. She let no more lyrics flow but instead they stood in silence. Oh, how she hoped he would be the next to speak.

Seeing her step closer, I did too. She was quite different. I couldn't put a finger (or hoof) on it but I knew something was very special about her. A smile crossed my ebon hued kissers as she spoke. Her voice was so beautiful and wonderful I wanted to listen to it for the rest of my life. And I hoped I could. All I needed to do was to say simple words to ask her but no I couldn't. What was wrong with me!? She must think I am a fool. Mocha optics looked to her with much interest, and I cleared my throat just a bit.
"Lunacy, I was wondering if.......well maybe.....if you would like to......join me."
I said it slowly and unsurely but, I said it right?
"I understand if you would like better."

I couldn't control the wide smile that appeared on my face. Feeling a bit bashful and overeager, my gaze lowered to the ground. My eyelashes fluttering as I looked back up to him, I tried to put together the perfect response to delight and impress him. Oh, who was I kidding? I was never good with words. Besides, there was only one thing to say.
Yes.
I said sweetly. He would understand if I would like better? Ha! Who was he trying to kid. I didn't see any other broncs over putting their heart on the line like he was. Better. Ha. What a strange concept. I didn't thing better even existed. He was perfect.
There's nothing better, Cloud. You're as good as it gets.
I said, chuckling softly at my own words. I felt so terribly bold, but I was so comfortable around him.

Yes. The word flicked in my think box over and over again. She said yes! A large grin appeared on my features so large it was almost too big for my face. I couldn't believe it! Things were getting better and better every day now! Now that I had my two beautiful femmora's I could claim a terra of my own. I know that sounds like I am just using them but I'm not! I would wonder around for the rest of my life if I had them forever.
"That's great!"
I exclaimed, happier then ever before. My dreams were coming true at last. Now we had to find Someday and the three of us could go out and pick out a land for us to live in forever.
ooc;; what land dearie?
