[[ please excuse my bad post. i haven't rped horses for a while // green ]]
Accidents, out on the highway to somewhere, They tell us about when we're young.
dark optics scanned the what seemed deserted land. maybe she should have come later in the day. the femme had come to the claimence mountains quite early, because it was already warm, and she knew that as the day progressed it was just going to get hotter. she hoped to have a home before then, the thought of standing around looking for a stag to claim her as his own was uncomfortable as it was, and she couldn’t imagine being in the situation with the sun up in the sky bearing down on her. then she would be both over heated, and nervous. she hated to be even on of those. the young mare took a cautious step forward, inhaling sharply as she scanned the horizon for stallions.
twilight had arrived at this place the day before, but she had decided to rest the night before venturing here. the whole concept of being ‘claimed’ was new to her. in her old lands, you were basically told where to go. you hardly ever had a say in where you lived, or who your king would be. twi was already enjoying the idea of it, but it also worried her. what if no one showed up? would she be destined to wander these claiming lands forever? what if the right stag, the one she was meant to be taken by, decided not to leave home that morning? twi knew she should have come later in the day. and now look what she was doing, over-thinking like she always did. that was one of the habits she would mind changing.
twilight continued on, gradually making it further into the lands. soon she felt she was heading up the mountain. there was no way she was going to travel to the top, but maybe she could find more comfortable scenery. as her legs carried her, it allowed her mind to wander. she missed her mother, and her father. she missed her brothers and her sisters. and strangely enough she missed the barren land that she grew up in. already she could tell that galloping free was a much better place live than her last home. the grass didn’t seem to be disappearing, and from what she could see their streams and rivers were not drying up. no, it was better for her that she was here. she was lucky to be here, wasn’t she?
twilight heard running water and instinctively started to head in that direction. in a few moments a small waterfall was in sight, along with a tiny pond. twi dipped her head easily when she reached the pool and took a long drink, letting the cool liquid run endlessly over her parched tongue. as she was she heard a stick crack, turning around she saw that it had just been a squirrel. twi wasn’t sure why she was on edge. today was going to be an amazing day. by the end of it, she would hopefully have stallion, king and mate. what more could a mare hope for? she heard another noise, but this one was quite louder, so she waited for her first hopeful to appear.

ooc;; your great! ;D
It was a new day. A better day hopefully. He hadn't been here long and already he was living his dreams. Two wonderful mares and a beautiful home that he recently claimed. Something was still missing though, and the honey hued brute was in search of that. Light stepping carried the stallion back into the lands that were known as the "claiming lands." It was where he first met Lunacy and Someday; his two mares. They were the most wonderful mares he had ever met and he hoped he could bring more mares to his lands so the two wouldn't be so lonely with only each other.Frame moved swiftly as warm chocolate optics scanned about the terrain. He saw nothing. It was early though. Maybe nobody was awake? Halting, the brute tossed his ivory tassels to the sky so he could see clearly. Snorting to show his disappointment of seeing no one, he moved along. If he had to he would stay all day in the claiming grounds looking for a mare to take back to Hidden Rainforest.
The yellow ball of fire that hung it the sky's was out already and making him hotter with every step he took. Even though it was spring, it was still hot from time to time. Tiara shook side to side as he walked along. Twin towers that rested firmly a top his cranium were pushed forward to the sound of rushing water. Immediately, Cloud started to move toward the water. In no time he was there, and orbs took in the sight of a lovely waterfall and a beautiful pond. Audits flicked to the sound of a crack, and dial turned quickly to see a squirrel hurry up a tree with a large nut in its mouth. Laughing softly at himself, he moved toward the pool of aqua. At first he didn't notice the equine until he stepped on a stick which caused a cracking sound. Right away he stopped.
Twin towers pushed forward and mocha orbs looked to the femme. A soft nicker was given before he took another step closer to the mare."Hello miss." He said softly and kindly to her showing that he was not one to be rude or take advantage of a lone mare."I am Cloud of Hidden Rainforest; might I be able to know your calling?" He inquired just moments later, taking another step.

I'll be your dream I'll be your wish I'll be your fantasy I'll be your hope I'll be your love Be everything that you need
On his first trip to these lands, Amphion wasn't expecting much. He was brand new at this and compared to most other stags, he was in way over his head. But he wanted someone to spend his days with besides the trees in the bachelor land. The emptiness of those lands drove him crazy and he swore if he did not have company soon, his frame would keel over and die. So it was this feeling of loneliness that prompted the czar to enter the lands of claiming, though his hopes were not very high. Chestnut frame marched towards a path that led a little ways up the mountain and he kept his pace slow, optics on the lookout for a mare not already swamped with stallions.
I will be strong I will be faithful Cause I'm counting on a new beginning A reason for living A bit of meaning
Amphion wasn't quite all the way up the mountain when one of many new scents entered his nares. Unlike the many scents of stallions that flooded him usually, it was of a mare and a single stallion. A spark of hope was ignited in his belly and, after taking a minute to gather himself, he approached the pair and stopped stopped several feet away, not wanting to invade her personal space. Polite nod was given to the other brujo for Amphion didn't mind the company of his own gender, but the bulk of his attention rested lightly on the mare before him. Hey there, I'm Amphion. His words were spoken in a casual tone, one that would befit his personality well. As she would find out, he was rather laid back at life in general, defiantly not one to become tense or nervous around the company of other horses.

[[ aww. thanks cammie =] ]]
It did not take long for the first stag to appear from the trees. He was quite a bit taller than she was, and not of the same breed. She had never met a horse that was built so differently than she was. Of course, they were both horses, so their make up wasn’t entirely different, but there were qualities that clashed between the two of them. But what really drew her to him was his color. In her heard, golden horses were rare. A few palominos had passed through her old lands though, so she was pretty sure that was what he was. A palomino. Even before he spoke, she had a feeling about him. He seemed kind, and the way that he approached her made her feel at ease.
"Hello miss." She smiled, Twi wasn’t used to be called ‘miss’ or any sort of title at all, but she liked it. This stallion was polite. ”Hello, Sir.” She said simply. Not sure what she was supposed to do. She felt so stupid. Coming to be claimed before she knew how she was supposed to act while it was actually happening. Luckily, the kind stag introduced himself. "I am Cloud of Hidden Rainforest; might I be able to know your calling?" She nodded, again surprised how he asked if he could know her name. ”It’s very nice to meet you, Cloud of Hidden Rainforest.” She said slowly, looking him over again. ”Of course, I am Twilight. I just arrived here last evening, so I am without a home.” She explained, taking another breath as she lightly pawed the ground. She was happy that at least one hopeful had shown up.
Then another noise caught her attention and her ears flickered to face the direction it was coming from. Before long another male was approaching. This stallion looked a little more like herself. Did he have mustang blood in him? She noticed how different this new stag’s coat was from Clouds. They both gleamed in the sun, that was now beginning to shine from above. The cloudy mask was dissolving. Hey there, I'm Amphion. His tone was much more casual than Clouds. She wasn’t sure which she preferred better. ”Hello Amphion, I’m Twilight.” She replied, looking back and forth between Cloud and Amphion. Already her decision was hard, and she hadn’t even reached the decision point yet. ”May I please know a little bit more about the each of you?” She asked, her eyes now alert.

The noises of the claiming mountain bounced around them but Amphion attempted to silence them, preferring to hear what she had to say over what some mare behind a few trees did. Not that she wasn't important aswell, but Amphion had decided to speak with this mare, Twilight as she had introduced herself. Dial lowered in acknowledgment as her name filled him and a smile lifted the corners of his his mug upwards. It reminded him of a certain time at night, when it was so black outside you couldn't see a thing and yet you could walk in any direction and know you weren't going to stumble. Perhaps she would posses a similar feeling, who knew though at this point in the conversation.
Her question reached him shortly after her introduction and he thought about it for a moment, wondering which way was best to respond. Unlike some stallions, or mares, Amphion didn't have a sob story. He'd had a rough time or two, but none that would cause the emotion of sadness to well up inside of anyone, himself included. So he took a breath and spoke, his tone again flowing smoothly out of his parted maw. Of course Twilight, and it's nice to meet you by the way he said with a silly grin on his face. I was born in a land not to far from here to Letter Bomb and Snow Drift, the king and queen of a land called Shady River. My father passed away soon after my birth but we were never that close to begin with and I moved quickly moved on. My mother wasn't so lucky and I'm pretty sure she died soon after my departure. I left the herd when I was two and began to travel around the lands, getting used to life in general. I came upon these lands only a few days ago and am going to try to carry out what my father left me. Currently I travel alone with no land to my name and no mares at my side but one can only be optimistic for the future.
