The chestnut tobiano mare wandered along the lands, a slight swagger to her walk. Her eyes scanned her new surroundings, a small shiver passing through her slender frame. These lands were certainly cooler than her old home. She shook her head, doing her best to scatter the thoughts of her own home. She wouldn't think of it, she wouldn't think of them. It was all in the past, just a faint memory that she was struggling to forget. She watched the mares and stallions hold friendly conversation, usually one mare surrounded by a small flock of stallions, all fighting for the mare's attention. She wondered if she was the kind of mare with crowd attracting abilities. She dipped her head, a small smile flickering in the corners of her mouth. She was pretty sure if she tried she could get a crowd, she wasn't one to doubt anything about herself. She nickered softly, her ears flicking back and forth in preparation for the comming stallions.

Stryder had been wandering aimlessly around the Mountian. He happened to hear the mare's call and was quiet happy to reply. He approuched he slowly so she'd find his presance. He dipped his muzzle low as a sign of respect. Hello, M'Darlin', He said. He hazle hazle eyes warm and kind. She was very pretty in his eyes, though he hoped he would not have to fight over her. He already had a small heard of himself and two other mares but wanted a bigger heard something terrible. Which was wierd to him because he'd spent most of his life wandering.

There was nothing like luck in Amphion's case, the young brujo didn't believe in it. If you happened to be in the right place at the right time, pat yourself on the back, but if not, get over it and move on. This philosophy had worked for four years now and his faith in the method had never been stronger. The chestnut frame moved across the mountain, his pistons picking his path carefully to avoid the sharp rocks that littered the hill. For claiming, it certainly made it hard to get around.
Nares flared out as he glanced around, seeking out anyone who seemed to desire some company. A few mares scattered here and there, some light, most dark. Stallions swamped around them like bugs to a flower and Amphion was careful to avoid such a situation. Sticking with a smaller group of horses was better for him to get to know the mare, and not have to worry about fighting over her. So it was a pleasant surprise when, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a mare and stallion conversing. Neither appeared to be offended by each other's company and so he decided to approach, stopping a few feet away. Mug dipped in a friendly manner to the stallion before turning to the young mare before him. She was quite attractive but Amphion pushed the thought from his mind. What was inside her mattered much more to him then what was outside. Hello miss, I'm Amphion. His words held a casual tone to them and he shut his maw after speaking, letting the words linger in the air.

Zulu watched the two stallions approach her, her small smile widening into a large grin. She gave each stallion a small dip of her head in respect. Her ears flicking forewards in order to catch every word. When they finished she gave her mane a light shake. She had been right not to doubt herself. 'Ello Stryder, 'ello Amphion. I am Zulu, it is a pleasure to meet you both. Her gaze bounced back and forth between the two as she spoke, another shiver passed through her frame. Eventually she would adjust to the climate, up until recently she had been used to extremely warm weather all year long. But no matter, it was only a small trouble. She smiled again, waiting for either of the stallions to reply.

Stryder ignored the other stallion completely, Not thinking more of him then a little disturbance. Smileing warmly at Zulu, he put the other completely out of his veiw. "Are you in need of a place to stay?" he asked her. Choosing to cut to the chase and ask. He hated standing around in one place for to long....a force of habit he couldn't cure himself of.

Amphion was a bit turned away by the other stallion's antics but chose to ignore them rather then try again. Besides, some brujos were just like that, there was nothing he could do about it. The mare's vocals wrapped around his harks and he smiled in a friendly way as he listened to them. Zulu, it was such an exotic name, he liked it. Occasionally you'd come across a mare who'd be named Lightning or Black Beauty, something totally non-original. Amphion could appreciate a different name, as he had one himself. The words of the other stallion escaped before his own could but inside of holding an inviting tone, he sensed a bit of anxiety on the part of the other czar. Did he lack patience of just simply want the mare before Amphion could have a chance at her? Either way, the words only made his smile grow. Why else would a mare be in claiming if they did not have a home? It's not like they come here just to hang out.
Standing his ground his harks flicked forward towards her, once again ignoring the motions of the stag opposite him and keeping his attention on her. It's nice to meet you aswell Zulu. His words held an inviting tone and he continued on after noticing her small shiver. Hopefully it'll warm up soon, I don't care much for cold weather either. [ cool I though it'd be a good name for her so I went for it lol ]

Stryder turned to the other stallion, choosing to at least try and be kind instead of apearing cold which was something he was not. " What did you say your name was?" He asked him. Even though Stryder was used to the cold, the wind did seem rather cold to him as well. (Yeah, i really didn't have a choice .... )

Zulu listened to Stryder's comment, slightly taken aback by his forewardness. Well I do not have a home... She turned to Amphion, glad to have something else to respond to. Yes, it is very cold. I know this is what you consider as your summer, but where I came from it was very hot all year long so please pardon my shivering. She sighed softly. I don't know what I'll do when your winters come. She flicked her tail against her pelt, shooing away the files settling there. She was used to all of the bugs though, where she came from they bothered you all year long. Her gaze switched from stallion to stallion, preparing for what comments might come next.

Optics swung sideways as he noticed the movement of the other stallion. So now he wanted to be friends then? Amphion knew better then to laugh out loud and so merely turned his dial to face the other brujo's, that same friendly smile on his mug. Amphion he said, saying it smoothly so there would be no misunderstandings. He wasn't going to push Stryder away, but was just a bit confused on why he had been so rude to begin with. After a moment he turned back to face Zulu, nodding as she spoke to tell her he was listening. He hadn't been here very long but the summer certainly didn't seem as warm as those he was used to in other lands. He liked the warm weather much more then he did the cold winters, for his winter pelt wasn't always the thickest and he hated spending his time being cold.
His smile grew a bit more at her vocals and he nodded in agreement, hoping it wouldn't get to incredibly cold here. He'd yet to experience a winter in these lands but if summer was any indication, hopefully the winter wouldn't be that bad either. Same here, I'm new to these lands so I don't know how bad the winters are. It would be nice if they stayed around this temperature but I wouldn't count on it he said with a small laugh, attempting to keep the mood light.

Stryder nodded, not exactly thrilled with himself at that moment. It it seemed to him that Amphion and Zulu were very much alike. Stryder liked the cold, having had to live with it his whole life, he'd gotten used to it by force. He'd never felt a shiver since his arival here, but he would agree that it was fairly chilly, not that he minded. But the other two seemed to dispise it. Not wanting to rain on their parade, he simply said, "The winters very, I suposse," He didn't truly know, For his arival here had come just after last winter.

Zulu nodded a smile spreading across her face. Yes, I'm pretty sure the winters will be pretty chilly compared to this. That okay though, I'm sure by then I will be used to the temperature. Zulu turned to the other stallion, Stryder. Her ears flicked foreward to listen to his comment. So I guess maybe it could end up being a warm winter this year, if I'm lucky. Her gaze wandered from stallion to stallion and her thoughts began to wander too. They both seemed very nice and friendly and she liked them both. She had more in common with Amphion which she liked but maybe the statement opposites attract would apply to her and Stryder. She knew Stryder was interested because he had started to make a half offer and she was pretty sure that Amphion was interested too. She hadn't really put much thought into who she would choose and she would leave it to impulse. She would continue in friendly conversation until the time for decision making would come. She bobbed her head gently, snapping herself out of her thoughts. Her gaze rose to meet that of the two stallions.

The young czar nodded in agreement as Stryder spoke, his harks flicking over towards the other stallion to hear his words. Yes, the temperatures of the seasons did vary and hopefully this winter wouldn't be a cold one. Then again, you never knew until it actually hit and by then it might be to late. Brushing the thought from his mind he maintained his smile and allowed his maw to part, issuing vocals back in Zulu's direction. Though if the summer is any indication, things are only going to get colder. His words didn't linger this time but kept up the tone of casual conversation flowing between the three. This was what he liked best, talking without having any pressure. Sure, at some point she would have to make a decision between the two of them, but his primary goal was to keep from pressuring her, one of the many blunders a stallion could make in claiming.
Making a mental note to try and avoid that problem Amphion shut his maw for a moment, allowing the other two time to speak if they wished to do so. He was a social equine, there was no doubt about it. But if the time came for him to be quiet, he would respectfully do so without to much objection. And when he was attempting to lay claim to his first mare, Amphion defiantly didn't want to mess this up in any way. And so he didn't object, merely acted as though he was taking a breath to ponder what he had just said, although they were fairly simple lyrics. Besides, this was all part of the process. By saying these things, she was getting to know him in the non-traditional way, not in the way most stallions chose to do it.

Zulu's gaze rose to meet Amphion's, her head bobbed gently in reply to his statement. That's true. She turned her head slightly to watch Stryder, wondering if he would have anything else to add. She was enjoying the fact that she was able to share in friendly conversation and get to learn a little bit about the stallion's personalities. She could ask to hear about their pasts or lives now like most mares did but then she knew they would ask the same of her. She dreaded even thinking about those who she used to reside with, she did miss the little island though. She had loved it there. It hadn't been her choice to leave it anyways but now that she was gone, she could never go back. She wouldn't ask that question, she would wait until she chose one of the stallions and got to know them better. Then maybe she would tell the story of her past. She sighed, looking up from the ground and back at Amphion and Stryder. She wondered what would come next. More conversation or maybe the big decision?

Stryder wasn't exactly social, Not that it was his falt. Still, he couldn't help but enjoy the company. Stryder didn't expect Zulu to go with him anymore, she had more in commen with Amphion then himself. And there really wasn't very much to tell about his past. He took the time to glance up at the sky, taking in the breeze to see if there was to be a sudden weather change. He caught nothing exept the sent of pine trees and and ice-like sent. He swirled his ears around while he waited for conversation to strike up.
