Hmm.. Try to find backgrounds with better quality. It wasn't your manipulation that throws the whole thing off, as you've obviously got that down, but the quality of the photograph in the background is atrocious. It isn't your fault though, but use better quality photos from now on in your stock. ;] The smudging on the mane is almost distorted, as in there was specks of black forming around it as if there are fleas in the mane. Just erase those specks and you'll have the perfect smudge-job. I detect a small blue glow around the upper torso and front legs of the horse that can easily give away the fact that it is cut out. I see the cutting is almost professional looking, but I'd rather see bad cutting that a horse with overly blurred edges. Be confident about your cutting, and don't try to hide it. Blurring is just another giveaway that it is a cut-out. Don't do it, and if you do, use the tool lightly. Lastly, the font is a tad bit hard to read. I love the contrast that it makes in the sky, but I can barely read the text. Try an easier font and mayeb make it a bit bigger if it is difficult to read.
Hope I helped. =] Great for a first shot in a while. I'm always a bit rusty after a long manip hiatus, no worries. <3
