Welcome to The land of Ishnal.
Once a very pleasant place anybody would want to visit, races and creatures alike. No one better then the next. No one looked down upon anyone. The rules of the land were fair. There was talk of evil places but no one ever ventured out to know for sure and those who did never returned. Some would say that it was because they found better lands, but this rumor was dismissed when reminded that nowhere could be better. All around Ishnal was your happy ending fairy tale sort of land. Until...
On a stormy night in the small village, Macadrian, in the very middle of Ishnal, in a straw home was born a child. A daughter in fact. Hair dark as cole, eyes also very black. This child frightened those who saw it and even sent some to go insane, though people were never too sure if it was actually the baby girl that had caused this. The girl grew in age and acted adnormal and acted out quite often. At the age of 15 the girl was cast from the village, said never to return. To this day those still do not know how she had survived, and many thought she hadn't until word was sent by mouth of a lion. She demanded she be let back into the village and if they didn't they would regret it. They refused the Demand. From then on The land of Ishnal as they knew it began to fall apart. Word was sent out about the land that King Namir and his Queen had been killed by a Dark one. Shortly after the land fell under the rule of Queen Lael, and many from Macadrian were first on the list of Death, her parents included, killed by the queen herself. Many creatures of the land fled to places they knew to be safe, while some joined the queen, working for her, carrying out her evil deeds.
Things died down a bit after a while, and people fell into the pattern of this new life. They watched what they said, if king and queen of the past were mentioned you would simply lose your head. Gaurds stood at every corner and you never knew which creatures were for the queen or not. On occasion the minions of the queen would be sent out on killing sprees, going throughout the land and killing anything that crossed their path. Life couldn't go on like this. They hoped dearly for the return of a rightful ruler, though no one knew how this would be possible...
