x.X.x. Some believe in angels x.X.x.
The journey to find wild horses wasnt easy, but to find some of the best wild horses seemed impossible. The trip started at the base of mogollons(desert). It would leave the desert and turn into a maze of canyons, ravines, and upturned slabs of sandstone. You would have to handle a steep climb onto a long flat bench(hill side). It would seem that you were at the end of your life looking at the-c-
bottomless chasm. Sometimes there wasnt even a trail to lead you to where you needed to go. The grounds would tilt steeply. You would have to plunge into canyons walls that rose a hundred feet upward. The canyon would widen, and the walls would sink until they were mere banks. There would be dangerous stretches of time-polished-stone. You would have to go through a cave-like passage where if-c-
you were to be riding a horse your knees would rub against the sides. It would last for a quarter mile before you saw light. you would have to travel for atleast 3 more hours into the mogollans. There would be terrifying norrow and steep trails. You would think there would be no valley out here where wild horses could live. Then you would see grassy floor. Rimming the narrow valley like-c-
sentiles at attention, were thick mountain pines. Their dark green branches contrasted sharply with the lighter grren of tall grass which covered the earth like a soft blanket. Far to the north, the waning sunlight glinted on water. It was impossible to determine the exact size of the lake; but it appeared to lie almost in the middle of the valley. A mare would then come into veiw. A mare who-c-
lived in these lands and they were her home. The mare would seem like a gigantic mare but for she would only stand at 15.2hh. There was something terrifying in the way she stood there, with the dying sun drenching her great body in bloody light. She faced south, her finely chiseled head upfling on its massive neck. Wind, streaming from the north, caught the heavy black and white mane and tail-c-
and swept them in a wildly tossing cascade along the heaving side and over the dark eyes. At first she looked black; but in the red light that poured over the mountain plain, it was diffucult to determine her exact coloring. Then, her big body moved and stood quartering toward a stone. There you could see that she had a black and white painted body, that were covered with-c-
countless dapples along the bulging shoulders and hind quarters. Every line and curve of the towering from bespoke breeding of the highest order. No wild mustang grew to such size and flawless conformation. No impure blood could produce legs like slender bands of steel such as she possed. Without scar or blemish, she poised there, outlined against the sky, like some forbidding giant from-c-
another world. And her wildness hovered over her and filled the air about her like a heavy frightening scent. For a full minute she stood remained in the fading light, then moved, turning on the ledge to face into the wind. He swung her head slowly from side to side, vaguely disturbed by something she sensed but could not identify. The wind was against her carrying no sense of danger; still-c-
she keened the air, trying to sift some message from it. She lefted in a blink of a eye. Now running in the valley. By herself. She broke into a headlong flight. She stopped close to the lake now staying close to water and food. For she kept herself alert incase she saw others. This fine creatures name was Shatez.-d-

He was also black and white painted. He was proud of his coloring. Now his orbs were quite another thing... One was a bright aqua blue, the other a clover lime green. They stook out, and he had always been teased for his pools and his pelt. He had never came out on top, and for once was wanting to.
He didn't have a fae yet, but was very close to getting one. Then he could claim a terrance, and reinforce the herd. He loved to gallop, and he lived to do it. He was cantering now, his banner swishing behind him like a flag. His tassels ruffled softly. As his dagger struck the earth, it left a small imprint and a fantastic noise.
Dakota changed gait to a rocking lope. He went faster, and then slowly slid to a stop as he spotted a black and white flicka about a furlong away. He smiled at her pelt, and trotted easily toward her. His nape was curved like a dressage horse, but his position was not stuck-up or snobby. He slowed as he reached her, and he bowed.
'Lo. I be Dakota. Might I have the knowledge of your blessing?

Shatez looked at the stallion hard. Yes it was almost like a mirror. Like she staring at her own reflection, but the face seemed different. He had different colored orbs and his bodice was shaped different. But none of that mattered now. She knew he was coming for she could smell it in the air. She never thought he would come to her though.
She shook her painted cranium and put any thoughts behind what was happening now. She definitely heard his question, but was she read to give out any information. She looked over the stallion once more, most thought it was rude but she wanted to try to get his personality. She finally decided it was fine.
My blessing is Shatez- she bowed before continuing 'tis a please to meet you Dakota Her voice was soft and sweet, it sounded like church bells ringing on a Sunday morning. No doubt Shatez was a light but what about this stallion called Dakota? He seemed nice but she never knew. She decided a chance wasn't so bad. Every horse needed a chance...didn't they.

He returned up from his bow as her lyrics reached his auds. Her voice was indeed beautiful. he noticed her uneasiness, and he stepped back a few steps, giving them more room and a possible escape route for her.
Thy name is as beautiful as your appearance- both are lovely.
His odd orbs shifted to her head finally. He was always shy at first, but once he got to know you, he would be irreplaceable. Dakota was a neutral, leaning toward the lights much more than the darks. He wasn't anything like a dark, but he was cursed neutral because his dam was a lightish neutral and his sire was a pure bred dark.
Dakota was sure that this mare was a light or neutral. There was no way she would be a dark, for darks cussed at each other and called one another bad names. Dakota would never cuss to a fae, let alone a stallion. One would be cursed as a dark forever.

To Shatez it seemed like this stallion was turning on some charm. That’s what they called back from an older herd. But if he was it seemed to be working. Shatez let out a sigh letting him know that she was relaxed and fine. She could tell he wouldn’t hurt her for no stallion that planned to kill would give even a second for the vixen to escape.
She didn’t really know what to say so she tried to think of something up. A simple ‘Thank You’ would be boring in her opinion. She lowered her cranium in thought. Her painted auds perked forward as she thought of something. Nothing came to mind so she sorta blurted something out.
I thank you Dakota Blah that was a stupid thing to say. It was too late now. She lifted her painted craium and gave it a shake. She wanted to clear her tassel from her chocolate orbs. She wanted a better view of this stallion, and now she had it.
Shatez was also a mare who could be very shy at first, or she would act stupid. Right now it seemed to be stupidness. Oh well she sha'll overome it sooner or later. Her heavy mane lay 'pon her massive neck as a slight wind blew by. Then it went into a fritz and acted as if it were chocking her. She shook her whole bodice to loosen from the tight grip she then layed her eyes 'pon the stallion.

He meant all he said. He turned on the charm sometimes, but this one was different. She wasn't all flirtish and gooey like most femmes. She seemed shy, but he had no room to talk. He was as shy as a deer around a hunting club sometimes. He was feeling a bit courageous right now, and now he felt comfortable around her. He would never ask for her to join his herd this early. They barely knew each other.
So, dear Shatez, what ambition do you have upon wandering this...
He held back the phrase, disgusting dignity remover. Instead, he said,
place.
His thoughts were true. Faes surrounded them, flirting the day away. The stags stood there absent-mindlessly, sucking in all their words like a anteater visiting an anthill.

Shatez studied that stallion before giving him an answer. She didn’t really have one besides looking for a herd. So she was about ready to speak but then thought a little more. She didn’t want to blurt something stupid out so she gathered her thoughts then answered his question.
I was traveling, looking for a herd. Since usally my herd is everywhere I was looking for a permenent herd. Yes it was true traveling from here to there. Never staying in one spot. It wasn't her fault she just couldn't find a nice herd. She's been in atleast 4 different herds. It was a horrible feeling to no have a home but a good feeling lay in there, and that was freedom. She was willing to get rid of that feeling for a permnent home though.

Dakota nodded, pleased with her answer. She was smart. Not dumb like most others. She wasn't going to just run off with any stag. And Dakota wasn't going to run off with any fae. It wasn't wise. Next thing you know, you might end up surrounded by darks.... OK. Let's stop there. Well, you get the point. Dakota softly spoke.
As a young one, I was always fleeing from my sire. He wanted to kill me. I'm used to the moving routine.
It was always the same. Get comfortable, move. Get comfortable, move.
I plan to reside here with a herd for quite some time.
He was longing to ask her, but he still felt that she would turn him away for not knowing him.

Ahh so this stallion know what it feels like. Except he had some equine that wanted to kill her. She only had that once. He even left a scar that lay hidden beneath her heavy mane. But those days were over. She now made sure no fights broke out for the fear of the blood still lay in her mind. She listened to him speak then tried talking without thinking.
Ahh yes I hope you'r not as picky as me.
It wasn't horrible but it didn't seem to fit the topic. She shook her painted bodice trying to pretend she never said that. But once her mane lay flat against her massive neck it was still there. It figures she would always be the one to mess up in front of a stallion. Every other vixen she knew never did a thing like that...and she knew many vixens.

The stag considered her few words, trying to find out how to reply. He didn't know what to do or say, so he stood there thinking. He tried to change the subject, not wanting to get to far into his horrible past. Shatez, is there anything you wish to ask of me? He was trying to strike a conversation, and try to get the process going. Once she was pleased with him, he might ask her the big Q. ((Blah. Sucky post.))

Shatez thought about his question. She could ask him about his past but she's done that before and didn't get very good results. She firgured he might want to start a conversation so she tried to think of something.
What are you dam and sire like?
It was an easy question but sometimes it wasn't the best. She hoped it would be fine for him to talk about. If it wasn't then he didn't have to answer it. But for some reason she wanted to know. Maybe she should be more specific. She didn't want to come off rude or annoying. No one has ever said she has but everyone was different.
What were they considered in the herds? And what was there alliance? If you wish not to answer these questions that is ok.

Dakota softly blew air out of his nares. He was unsure about it, but he decided that he must talk about his parents if she was ever going to feel comfortable around him. My jet black sire was like the King of evil. My dam was the Queen of love. My dam had to wander through an unknown forest once, and was in heat. A very stupid thing to do. Looking for trouble. My sire crept up on her, and well, you know what he did.
He paused here, not wanting to reveal the rest of his story. He took a deep breath, and continued on.
Months later, my dam went into labor. Coincidentally, she was in the forest. My sire found her, and she was killed very painfully. But remarkably, I was born. My pelt show many stories. The black bad for my sire, and the white good for my mother. They both are still part of me.
He cut out the very end, but that was a bit personal. He glanced at the ground, his cheeks burning.

If Shatez could she would hit herself. Why would she ask such a question? She knew it was too late but would never ask a question like that again. She felt terribly sorry for him. Her life wasn't even the slightest of hard. But why would he tell her if it was so horrible?
You didn't have to answer the question. If I were you I don't thihnk I would have been able to share that with anyone. I'm very sorry for what has happened.
How could she not feel sorry for him. Only equine that died in her life was a foal she knew. They were brother and sisters atleast she thinks. She never knew for sure for he dide during birth. Yet this was not about her. She looked at the ground clueless about what to say.
O0c: Ahh 'tis horrible

He reached forward, and nudged her softly.
'Tis is alright.
He felt the Big Q coming up. He didn't know why, but he could sense it was coming. He couldn't control it. The urge was over whelming, but he held it back. For a little while. He wanted to see her reaction first. Then the Big Q would be released to toss around. ((Blah Blah Blah! That was the worst post ever! I didn't know what to post..))

She let out a sigh when sh found out he wasn't mad at her. She gave him a small nudge in return.
Good, I was afraid you'd be mad
She didn't have to tell him that did she. Curse her quick responses. She ignored it though acting as if she didn't care. Yes she was rather good at that unless you were good at seeing through it.
O0c: Oh it's ok...not like I'm making it an easier for you.xD
