On My Own

I looked around for Cisco, where was he? He promised to be here to play with me! I looked down at my refelction in the lake. I looked alot like my mother. A soft golden palomino. Then of corse my brother, was like my dad, but then agian only in looks. He was different from all of us. I sigbhed, he wasnt coming...I then heard a crack behind me in the bushes, I turned to look, then all I felt were claws and darkness falling, I was screaming but no one heard me! Then I felt water rushing around me, I couldnt breath! I struggled to get out but couldnt.

I gasped sweat apon my nape. I looked around it was pitch black and I was in the mare claiming terrian. I have had that dream so many times I didnt know what was wrong, it had started when I came here. I sighed what was going on? I wasnt sure what to do now, I wouldnt get back to sleep. I knew it was worth a shot and layed down apon the earth. Closing my orbs I didnt wake till morning feeling the warmth of the spring sun. I then stood up and shook a little. What to do now? I thought for a moment and then turned around and made my way towards the stream and lowered my dial to drink my fill, I then turned and looked over the terrian. It was good to be in a new home.

The terrian was covered in an emerald blanket. I hadnt been here before but I felt as if I knew the lands so well. I sighed and smiled softly to myself. I was scared though. But I didnt show it. I had to find a herd now, coming on 6 next spring I wouldnt be able to live with out a herd this winter either. I also didnt want to. I needed to find my own herd. I would mind a neutral or a light, but I knew if a dark came along, I would just have to turn and walk away. I could never trust a dark. Even if I was related to one. I then moved forward and walked over to an oak tree and stood under it. There wasnt much green underneath so I didnt bother trying to eat. Trying my to not eat, I didnt want to be fat, yet I could help it. I moved out alittle from a the tree and. lowered my dial to graze a bit, just thinking who might come, what I would say, how I should act. Well act polite of corse, but I wasnt sure. Oh well. I sighed softly agian and lifted my dial, a nicker emitted from my nares and I waited.

The nicker reached his auds, and he flicked them to hear better. He found the direction, and took off at a full canter. He galloped faster and faster, not caring where my path was. There was no to her equine in sight, so I need not worry any blocking my way.

The shoots of grass and sharp twigs tore at his pistons, but he didn't care. He heard the lovely nicker, and there had to be a lovely fae to follow. He finally reached the clearing, and spotted her. Lovely was right. Beautiful was the word. He stepped closer, dipping his head to her, showing that he meant to harm.

.i. had my dial down grazing, I could hear the thundering hooves from a mile away ofcorse, no more than five seconds and one already. I wasnt trying to be rude, but he didnt have to run, he could have taken his time, I wasnt in a hurry, where was I going to go? I didnt have a home. I was lucky that this brujo even had come and spoken to me. I lifted my dial when I knew he was rather close. My pools fell apon a multi-colored brujo. Dipping his dial I did the same. He seemed kind. Light of corse. I had yet to hear his lyrics though. Agian. Darks did put on a mask to hid them selves from any light, wanting a light for there slave.

.i. caught his lyrics, no hint of dark for sure. I sighed and nodded, letting him know I had caught his lyrics, and that I was so glad he was here.

.i. had to know, he wouldnt be dumb and not know why she was here right? Of corse, thats why he was here, just to invite me back to his lands so I could meet a few other mares, his lead, and live on. Grazing and having a couple foals then at my time to die. It was the same thing for every mare, no matter what anyone said. I sihed thinking about this, should I deny or accept his offer?

I nodded. Some faes liked the introduction talk, others didn't. I didn't care much for them, but I used them for some faes thought of it as rude it you didn't. I tossed my dial, ridding my mane and forelock from my different colored orbs. I backed up a few steps, giving us some room. And plus, faes liked it if there was a possible escape route. I don't know why, but it helped them feel safe. Though I was neither light nor dark, I would still never strike a fae. It is against all the rules of stagmenship. (lol)

Most come here to find a home. You would be looking for trouble if you came here without a reason.

My lyrics were true. Most would be caught by a dark if they turned down the stags and were just "passing through." My voice was not lightish and frilly, though it certainly wasn't dark and deep. It was just right. I didn't care if lights joined my herd, but a dark would never be trusted. Darks are nasty, evil equines that only care about themselves and breeding.

So, m'dear, what do you want to find in a stag?
