Looking to the sky, she squinted her eyes. The sun was fading behind the thick cloud of mist as it grew from the moistness of the land. The land she stood on was soft, and puddles lie every where from previous rains, and from the swamp water. All sorts of creatures ranging from small toads to large herons and cranes transversed on the marshy surface. Winter had passed and had made the land even more so like water rather than earth. Raven started to get annoyed to have walked in such filth as it squished and gurgled underneath her feet. At times, she would trip when she stepped in a wrong place and the mud would go up to her knees. Struggling to free her leg, she pulled it out and spread mud on her right side. The brown mud clearly showed on her jet black coat. Grumbling that she had got mud all over herself, she cursed as she walked on, hoping that she would find the exit. The tall Frisian mare stuck her daggers into mud once more. Her tail dripped with water and mud, which had now dried and became crusty. Was there just no interest in these lands? Was this not normal? Raven with her ebony and auburn tinted lean build and rebellious eyes that were full of mystery stomped through the mush in hopes to meet some one or something interesting. She had yet to return to her home in the lands to the south. There was no way she was going back there. That place was desolate, and the drought that had spread through the land made the whole place a home for starving murderous predators. She was alone and suffered from boredom. She wanted a herd to join, some one to talk to, perhaps even a mate and a foal of her own. Was there no stallion that would not use her as a toy and only a breeding tool rather than treating her like an individual with a mind, spirit and body of her own with her own free will? She would keep searching for those who would give it. Raven found herself sliding into a horrible mood that made her ears go flat and her pearls reveal themselves behind her kissers. Raven, a 15.2 hand mare was more aware in the darkness than in light. She found her self more on the defensive side than anything else when in darkness. When she was in the darkness, she felt cold, angered and wanting to destroy something, rather than being a neutral in light. By blood, she was a dark horse. By nature, she was in between neutral and dark, but she was more on the dark side than anything else. Her mind would become clouded, her words hurtful and would release horrible and unspeakable insults, and she would become deceitful at times as well. This was one mare that was not to be predicted.
Currently, Raven was walking with her head lowered, and her eyes wide trying to take in as much moonlight as possible. It was her only source of light so that she may find her way. Every tendon of her muscles in every part of her body were tense, in case if something were to surprise her, she would be ready to react. Her radars shifted to every direction picking up every noise, her breathing became hard as she got more nervous. Black surrounded the mare who was two separate horses. She felt like she was caged. Picking up speed, she went to a trot, eventually covering herself in mud. Her mane and tail was hard and crusty from the filthy dirt. Her bodice was all crusty as well, and cracks in the mud were highly visible. No longer was she black, but a light brown in color. Not like anyone cares. Ill wash it off when I get out of this ... sty. she said fiercely to herself. A cloud of steam erupted from her nostrils as he saw a large sized crevvase in front of her Leap it. her senses told her. Backing up a few steps, she galloped towards the crevasse, water splashing up on her sides, and she jumped over the crevasse. As she landed on the other side, a few rocks fell down into the darkness. Turning and looking down, she gave a triumphant snort and trotted on.Feeling the mud being caked onto her coat, she bucked. I hate mud. How disgusting. she thought to herself. Hearing thunder above her head, little drops of rain fell atop her forelock.
Galloping through the trees, she desperately tried to find shelter. Her breath was heavy as the steam poured from her mouth as the air was cold. Her coat was no longer coated with mud, just brown slime as the rain tried to clean it off. It was sticky and slimy, similar to snot. Raven was now really ticked off. Not only was she running around in circles and getting lost, but now she was covered in mud, and now it would be more difficult to take it off since it was now slime instead of completely dry or wet. The thunder crashed and boomed above her head as lightning flashed in the sky. Her eyes also flashed with lightning for annoyance. She hated the rain with a passion. Seeing a tree, she ran underneath it even though it wasnt the most safest place in the world, it would work for now. Snorting out of frustration, she pawed the ground with her flint, creating a pile of dirt behind her foot. Lowering her head, she awaited for the storm to silence itself. Eventually, she fell asleep from the amount of running she did.
It was maybe several hours before she woke up to see the sun stinging her eyes. How long had she been asleep? Had others passed by her while she was asleep? Looking around, she saw that there was more water than there had been last night. Grumbling to herself, she decided to try to find her way out of the awful marsh she somehow got herself into.
